Candy

Most health experts will tell you to stay away from candy in most scenarios especially in athletic situations.  However, what you may not realize is that candy can be a very useful tool if used correctly.

Before going into the useful attributes of candy, it’s important to realize its negative side.  Most candy works by spiking your energy level in the few minutes after eating it.  Thus, you will have more energy and feel like you can do more things in those few minutes.  Unfortunately, that spike is often very short-lived, and you’ll crash into a state that is worse than before you ate the candy.

Using candy as a tool for better play is all about timing.  If you eat your candy bar at the turn as your halfway “meal”, you’re going to regret it at about the thirteenth or fourteenth hole.  If, however, you eat your candy bar at about the sixteenth hole, the candy might give you that extra boost that you need to finish your round.
