On Bagged Snacks –
Potato Chips & Pretzels & More

The bagged snacks offered at golf courses around the nation are often considered the tradition when ordering a snack at the turn.  Pretzels and potato chips can be found in most golf carts on any given day at the course.  But few golfers truly know what these snacks are doing to their bodies.

Given the choice, pretzels are probably healthier than potato chips.  Pretzels contain a lot of carbohydrates, giving your body a lot of healthy energy which isn’t present in other snacks.  Pretzels also contain salt.  Because they have so much salt, they are prone to make you feel thirsty so that you keep drinking water.  Therefore, they help you stay hydrated also.

While potato chips do contain salt like pretzels, the benefits of potato chips really stop there.  The fat and carbohydrates present in potato chips aren’t necessarily the healthy type and eating potato chips might result in the same crash of energy as eating candy.
