Hold On to It!

Grips that are slick will make you hold the club firmer than needed thus causing tension in your swing.  Tension is never good in the golf game.  Before deciding on a grip, know what you need by asking some questions to yourself.  What kind of weather conditions do I play in the most?  What type of feel do I prefer in your grip?  And what size is best for my hand size?  Most grips can be fitted to the hand size.

Here are some things to consider when determining the best grip for you.

The Rubber Grip is for all weather and has a medium to soft feel.  This is the most common grip. (example: Golf Pride - Tour Velvet)

The Cord Grip is great for all weather and wet however it has a firmer feel.  If your hands are sensitive maybe you should look at another type. (examples: Golf Pride – Tour Velvet Cord or Multi Compound Cord)

The Synthetic Grip is an all weather grip that offers soft to firm feels depending on the grip.  Some even have shock dampening. (examples: Golf Pride – DD2 or Winn grip)
