Stretching Is The Key To Staying Injury Free

Golf is a sport and people do get injured.  Stretching is a major key to staying injury free while enjoying your favorite pasttime.  The major areas of concern are the wrists, shoulders, neck, and back.   All stretches should be held for about 20 seconds.

A stretch for the wrist is holding the arm straight out and pulling the tops of your fingertips back toward you.  Then take your hand, pull it under and back, stretching the top part of the wrist.

The shoulders are the next area to stretch.  Pull the shoulder across your chest, with the other arm, stretching the rotor cup.

The neck is an area many golfers forget to stretch.  Stretch the neck by grabbing your head and pulling it down to the side.

The last stretch to remember is for the back.  Turn to the right with your hands on your hips and hold, then turn to the other direction and hold.  After that stretch, simulate a golf swing by moving back and forth.

Make sure you always do the other side of any of these stretches. After you have done the proper stretching you should be ready to play the game, hopefully injury free.
