As a Golf Instructor, I’ve seen
many years of golfers trying to fix the swing when the simple solution
is fitted clubs.In the past
few years, the public has become more educated on the concept of fitted
clubs.The problem is the
companies know this, using it as a buzz word to sell clubs to people
that still don’t know enough.Don’t get me wrong, it is important to get fitted clubs however
make sure you have someone that understands fitting to help you – not
the part-time employee at a discount store.
Approx. 90 % of all clubs
purchased off the rack are not fitted to the purchaser. If you happen to be one of those golfers with clubs off the rack
then your golf swing will suffer. The problem is, we as golfers will adjust to non-fitted clubs to
make the ball go where we want. This of course causes problems in the swing.Below are some questions you should ask yourself if the clubs are
working for you and not against you.
Does your Golf Instructor have trouble helping
your ball flight after a swing change?
Are your divots one way and your ball is the
other way?
Do you hit the ball off the toe or heal?
Is the ball flight to high or low?
Do your fingers dig or don’t touch your palm when
you grip the club?
Do you have to close or open the club face to hit
it straight?
The main thing you want to know
is if the problems are with your clubs or your swing.
