Longaberger Golf Club
Nashport, Ohio

What’s the number one public golf course in Ohio?  Well, according to Golf Magazine, it’s Longaberger Golf Club located in central Ohio.  And Golf Magazine couldn’t be more correct.  This public course has a private club feel that leaves any golfer impressed.

So what makes this public course so prestigious?  Is it the beautiful club house complete with restaurant and lavish locker rooms?  Or is it the impressive practice facilities with pitching green, sand bunkers, and two-sided driving range?  It could be all of these things, but the golf course itself demands respect.

Longaberger Golf Club sits on top of a large hill that rises above the surrounding area so that from the first tee you can see for miles in every direction.  That beauty is a great start to the round.  The golf course itself is not that challenging except for the fact that it plays rather long.  Other than that, there are few hazards that come into play.  Fairways do tend to be tight with heather surrounding many of the holes.  Bunkers also seem to be a favorite on this course.  There are at least two or three on every hole.

The kicker that puts Longaberger over the top is the speed of the greens.  The greens roll exactly like you would expect from a private club.  They roll true and are often hard to read, making them very challenging but exciting to play.  A day at Longaberger would not be complete without driving by the corporate offices of Longaberger Basket Company, which, as a nod to it's core business, is located in a replica of a giant basket.  To learn more, visit Longaberger Golf Club.
