Check the Set Up

Good golf is all about consistency and eliminating the big mistakes.  As golfers hit bad shots they continue to change their swing which leads to inconsistency.  A bad swing is usually the result of an incorrect pre-swing position.  Most bad shots lie in the way the golfer aims the club and positions their body to the ball and the target.

Use two clubs as alignment aids the next time you are practicing.  One club running parallel to the target and the second club should be perpendicular to the target line.  Use the first club to aim your club face to the target.  The face should be square to that club.  Also make sure the body, from feet to shoulders are parallel to this club.  The second club will show the ball position in relation to your feet.  We all have issues with misaligning so check your set up during each practice session.
